Clay sand, a vital component in casting, employs clay as its binder and plays a crucial role in molding. The sand treatment department stands as a cornerstone of the foundry operations, tasked with providing premium molding sand for core-making processes. The quality of the prepared molding sand directly influences casting production quality, output capacity, and cost efficiency. Given the intricate nature of the sand treatment processes, the workload associated with clay sand treatment and transportation is substantial, and the conditions can be demanding. Therefore, the mechanization of the sand treatment process is pivotal to optimizing casting production and ensuring operational excellence.

Green sand production line process: Utilizing clay as a binder, this modeling sand undergoes a mechanized recovery process, integral to foundry operations. Post-pouring, the quality of the recovered casting sand is critical to maintaining high production standards while minimizing costs. The complex recycling and treatment of used sand demand rigorous processing and transportation efforts under challenging environmental conditions. Thus, mechanizing the sand recycling and treatment is fundamental to foundry production. Following pouring and cooling, a vibration-based shakeout machine efficiently separates the sand mold. Castings proceed to the shot blasting area via a scale conveyor. The shakeout machine's sand outlet leads to a belt conveyor, directing the old sand to the regeneration zone. Here, a combination of crosswise suspended magnetic separators and belt conveyors effectively removes iron fragments. Dust is extracted through a dedicated port, and the filtered old sand is stored in a small silo. Cooling is achieved via a boiling cooling bed, and the 2# bucket elevator lifts the sand vertically into storage silos. A precisely engineered unloader allocates the sand to designated bins, each featuring a vibrating disc feeder. The sand is then conveyed to the rotor sand mixer, where additional materials like coal powder and bentonite are proportionately introduced via a screw feeder. A uniform mixing process ensues, culminating in the sand's readiness for a fresh molding cycle.
