Clay sand, essential for molding due to its clay-based binding property, is the cornerstone of the sand treatment department in any foundry. This department is tasked with supplying high-quality molding sand for core-making, directly influencing the casting quality, boosting production output, and slashing costs. Given the intricate nature of the sand treatment process, significant efforts are required to handle clay sand treatment and transportation, often under challenging conditions. Thus, mechanization of this process is pivotal for enhancing efficiency and productivity in casting operations.

Green sand production line process: Utilizing clay as a binder, this modeling (core) sand plays a critical role in foundry production. Automating the sand recovery process is crucial for enhancing the quality and output of castings while minimizing costs. Given the complexity of treating and recycling used sand, the mechanized processing and handling of green sand are essential. Following the pouring and cooling phases, a vibrating shakeout machine efficiently separates the sand mold, transporting hot castings to the shot blasting area. Equipped with a belt conveyor, the shakeout machine facilitates the movement of used sand to the regeneration area, where a suspended magnetic separator expertly eliminates iron contaminants. Dust removal ensures only clean sand proceeds to the small sand silo, where it is cooled and lifted by the 2# bucket elevator for storage. The unloader distributes the sand across bins, with vibrating disc feeders ensuring smooth flow into the belt conveyor. Sand is then conveyed to the rotor sand mixer, where precise additives like coal powder and bentonite are integrated using an auxiliary electronic scale. After thorough mixing and processing by the sand loosening machine, the sand is ready for another cycle of molding.
